Church Planting Workshops in Alaska

Picture
Dr. Tony Webb gave a Gatherer, Shepard, Elder Workshop at Alaska Bible College in Palmer on Saturday, February 28, 2015, and gave it at Alaska Bible Institute in Homer on Saturday March 7, 2015.
Alaska Bible College and Alaska Bible Institute are two schools that we are blessed to have in our state to educate students in the Scripture.

Dr. Tony Webb of VisionUSA gave church planting workshops in Alaska.

Gatherer, Shepard, Elder Workshops were held in Birchwood and at Kenai. These workshops are designed to train on how to reach the unchurched for Christ, to demonstrate His love for them in creating relationships in living life, prayer, study of the Word of God, fellowship and service. Many people are concerned about the lack of moral and Christian values in society. The way forward is to introduce one person at a time to Christ and to start small fellowships and churches throughout Alaska, the United States, and the world.

Vision Alaska Director, Roger Holl, shares the history of the vision of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (FGBC) for planting churches in Alaska in the 1970s.
The challenge is to renew the vision to see the establishment of FGBC churches throughout the vast geographical ares of Alaska to reach individuals and families with the Word of God.

Dr. Tony Webb explains the concepts of gathering unchurched people to a fellowship and what it means to shepherd new Christians. The role of elders was also discussed.

One of the goals of the Gatherer, Shepherd, Elder process of creating new churches is to reach those who would not normally come to a church.
Once they form their own fellowship it is desirable to have them connected to a parent church as well.
